If you enjoy exploring all forms of textile and multimedia art, this activity is for you.

We experiment with many different techniques (embroidery, weaving, patchwork, quilting, collages…) and we take pleasure in sharing and exploring various types of work together.

Lately we have completed individual and shared projects which may be displayed.

No previous expertise required. Just come and join us!

“Books and Tea” is a monthly meeting, on a Thursday, for bookworms and tea drinkers. Bring a book you’ve really enjoyed, talk about it and pass it on! The group meets from 2:15 to 3:45. Note that the group will be meeting at La P’tite Cigogne, 23 rue du Musée in Angers. No need to sign up, just come and enjoy!

The March read for the book club is “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” by Philip K. Dick.

“Rick Deckard, a bounty hunter, plans to kill enough errant androids (replicants) so he can replace his robotic sheep with a real one. In the process of hunting down these slave pseudo-humans, Rick Deckard falls in love with an android and learns about himself and what it means to be human–and inhuman.”

Knitted garments are très chic,

So be in vogue and start this week.

Knit and Natter is a free activity, open to all library members. No need to reserve, just come and enjoy! If anyone has some extra yarn please bring it in.

Do you love French food and restaurants? Would you like to speak English more, but in a relaxed environment? Join the Luncheon Club! Enjoy a meal and great conversation in English once a month at a local restaurant. This activity is open to library members. Spaces are limited. Take two published poets, Valentin Deudon and Milène Tournier and put them in the same room with jazz trio Tony Baker, Denis Tarsiquel and Jean-Baptiste Dima, and professional dancer Clara Tarsiquel and see what happens! That is the whole idea behind a happening…a unique performance not to be missed!

This program falls within the context of the Printemps des Poètes 2024 (the French national celebration of poetry) and has been organised with the collaboration of the MIEL (Maison internationale des écritures et des littératures) with the support of the Ville d’Angers.

Free and open to the public. No need to reserve, just come and enjoy!

Treat yourself to an afternoon of a collective reading of one of Shakespeare’s plays. This activity consists of watching a BBC production on DVD and then reading relative scenes.
