Saturday Reading Group | 22/06/2019 | 3:00 pm-4:30 pm

Saturday Reading Group

The Saturday Reading Group is for anyone who loves to read, socialize in English, and meet new people.

The June read for the group is The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich. The high-energy tale of how two socially awkward students, trying to increase their chances with the opposite sex, ended up creating Facebook.

The group will also be discussing the 2010 film « The Social Network ». The Social Network is director David Fincher’s equivalent of Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane: the story of a capitalist who is awe-inspiring in some ways, but tragic in others; enviably clever and driven, but also repellently ruthless and treacherous. Screenplay by Aaron Sorkin (author of The West Wing).

Meetings are once a month on Saturday afternoons starting at 3 pm. Open to all library members. To sign up please contact Anne Kaar at bookgroup@ellia.org.
