Join the Garden Club on Thursday, Feb 5 for the annual planning meeting, where we will discuss and decide on which gardens to visit in 2026. The meeting will start at 2:30pm. All are welcome to join the lunch beforehand, at noon, at La Cour, 23 rue de la Roe. If you want to join for lunch, send your information to GardenClub@ellia.org no later than Jan 23. Otherwise just show up for the meeting at the library. |

Treat yourself to an afternoon of a collective reading of one of Shakespeare’s plays. This activity consists of watching a BBC production on DVD and then reading relative scenes. This is a great activity for lovers of language and fans of the great wit. Free and open to all library members. For more information or to sign-up, please contact the group coordinator here. The Saturday Reading Group is for anyone who loves to read, socialize in English, and meet new people. For this meeting, the group will read “The Promise” by Damon Galgut. The Big Quiz is back ! For one final fling in Rue Boisnet ! Yes, it’s the Boisnet Blockbuster Brainteaser ! On Sunday 8th February with the first questions at 2 o’clock sharp. Make sure you’re in your seat in time for blast-off. There will be questions, but they will be in all sorts of shapes, sizes and challenges. Wine, coffee, tea, snacks and cakes will be available all afternoon. All this for just 12 euros a head with all proceeds going to the library for its fundraising. Remember to bring your English-speaking French friends. The rules: Teams of 6….6 heads are better than one ! Prizes for the winning teams. Come to the library and enjoy a slice while you roll the dice – all in English of course! This fun-filled event is the perfect way to unwind, meet new people, and enjoy a night of friendly competition. Whether you’re a fluent speaker or just starting out, everyone is welcome at our table. Date: February 10th Time: 6:30 – 8:30 pm Cost: 10€ per player. This covers your pizza and soft drinks. Open to the public. All ages and levels welcome. (Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.) Let the games begin! |
