This is a special moment when the community gathers together to talk about everything and anything (…in English of course!) and sips coffee and tea. Coffee House is free and open to all library members. Just drop in, no need to reserve!

The library is an authorized open center for the TOEIC Listening and Reading test (Public programme with photo). To sign up please consult the ETS website. Scheduled dates for 2018 are

Wednesdays : March 14th, April 11th, May 9th, June 13th & Sept. 12th.

Saturdays : March 31st & July 7th

The Internet is wonderful and can answer all your questions. For most of us, it is the main source for news. Indeed, we have immediate access to plenty of media from different parts of the world. But can they all be trusted? Using different sources and media, the press review helps you to find your way through the news and be well-informed. This is an informal sharing and discussion of the news in English. Please feel free to bring in an article that you would like to share with the other members of the group.

Meeting are held on Saturdays from 3-4:30PM.

This new activity for library members is organized by freelance journalist and library volunteer: Isma Hassaine-Poirier

The next film club event will be a showing of Wes Anderson’s “The Darjeeling Limited”. A year after their father’s funeral, three brothers travel across India by train in an attempt to bond with each other.

Screening begins at 15:00 sharp. This activity is free of charge for all library members. If possible, please reserve by signing up at the front desk. A discussion in English will follow the film. Other upcoming dates for the filmclub are April 7th, May 19th and June 23rd. 

Treat yourself to an afternoon of a collective reading of Shakespeare’s Henry the Fourth. This activity consists of watching a BBC production on DVD and then reading relative scenes. This is a great activity for lovers of language and fans of the great wit. The activity is free for library members. Please sign up at the front desk.

In order to vote during the General Meeting your membership must be current. If you would like to check the expiration date of your membership please contact us. If you are not able to be present at the meeting, click here for a proxy that will allow your vote to be counted.

I would like to emphasize that our non-profit/charity exists solely for its members and because of its members and that this meeting is the moment for each of you to actively participate in the democratic process of our institution.

“Ski, snow and surf”, a workshop in English based on winter sports for young adults (ages 12-14), will take place in the library and runs over three consecutive afternoons of three hours each. This is a wonderful way for kids to have fun learning English through games, songs and lots of speaking and moving around. Cost is 75 euros (includes snack, materials and library membership). Please contact the front desk to sign up. Limited to 15.

Gerald Shea will be speaking on “The Sounds of Silence: dealing with deafness”

Gerald Shea has lived most of his life in New York and in Paris, and practiced law in both cities for many years. He has published internationally in legal and financial journals.  He has written two books for a general audience, Song Without Words: Discovering My Deafness Halfway Through Life and The Language of Light: A History of Silent Voices. He and his wife live in Paris and spend summers in Massachusetts.
