9:00-11:00 TEXAN BRUNCH! Start your day with a Big Texan brunch (hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausages, etc)! The library will be dishing up a great mix of breakfast foods with the taste of Texas…! Pick and choose buffet style…! Pull out our cowboy wear…hat, boots and good old blue jeans and we will play some good old country music…ambiance Texas live in Angers! Cost: 5 € per person. Sign up by sending an email to info@ellia.org. 11:00-12:00 AAC – Everything you would ever want to know about the Austin Angers twinning. Come to this informal exchange to talk about what Austin-Angers connections have been made between the two cities. Learn more about the past, the present…and the future of the Austin Angers twinning. Talk in both English and French. No need to reserve. Free and open to the public. 2:00-4:00 The library will be presenting and interviewing 3 of the best-known and well-loved Austin writers by video conferencing – writers Andrew Hilbert, Owen Egerton and a surprise guest will be talking about life in Austin and their published work. No need to reserve. Free and open to the public. 6:00-7:30 Afterwork –. Once a month on a Friday evening the library will offer a theme-based “Afterwork”. This is an activity for young professionals to network and socialize in English. This new activity kicks off on September 21st with a Texas theme. So put on your cowboy boots and come by the library to try out our juice bar and other drinks! 5 euros per person to cover the cost of drinks and nibbles. |

Books and tea

“Books and Tea” is a monthly meeting for bookworms and tea drinkers. Bring a book you’ve really enjoyed, talk about it and pass it on! The group meets from 2 to 3:30 at the tea shop in town called “Les Casse-Croûte de Suzy”. No need to sign up, just come and enjoy! |
Textile Arts & Crafts **NEW ACTIVITY**

If you love to needlecraft, this activity is for you! Each participant will make a textile creation of their choice, (bag, pouch, wall tapestry…whatever you fancy!) while exchanging different techniques in English. Bring your own materials and join the group once a month on a Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. on the following dates: September 20th, October 11th, November 8th and December 6th. Free to library members. Please sign up at the front desk if possible. This activity is free for library members. |
Drama Club **NEW ACTIVITY**

Come join the Drama Club, a new activity at the library starting this September! Open to adults and university students, with or without acting experience. It will consist of miming, improvising, and acting out published works of theater, such as sketches and plays. Meetings will take place at the library twice a month (except during school holidays) on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Please attend regularly on the following dates: October 3rd, October 17th, November 7th, November 21st, December 5th, December 19th, January 9th, January 23rd, February 6th, February 27th, March 13th, March 27th, April 3rd, April 24th, May 15th, May 22nd, June 5th and June 12th. This activity is open to library members, the cost is 90€ for the 2018-2019 school year. Sign up at the front desk. Take the stage and break a leg! |
Pizza and board games

The pizza and board games evening is scheduled one Tuesday a month from 6-8 pm. Cost is 7 euros (covers pizza and non-alcoholic drinks, 5 euros for children 12 and under and native English speakers). No reservations necessary, just come and enjoy! Upcoming dates are Oct. 16th, Nov. 20th, Dec. 18th, Jan. 22nd, Feb. 26th, March 19th, April 23rd, May 21st and June 18th. |

Celebrate summer with a potluck lunch

You might know that the library closes on July 13th at 6 pm for the summer…however we thought that it would be fun to have an after-closing party and invite the members to share their time and favorite foods with a potluck lunch! This is a bring-something-to-share event, either main dish, dessert and/or drinks and we will put everything in common and proceed to eat and drink and make merry! Please bring your own plate, glass and cutlery as well and the library will make sure that there is plenty of hot coffee and tea. The library is closed for the summer holidays and opens on Saturday, September 1st at 1 pm. However do not think that the activities come to a complete halt! Atelier intensif d’anglais pour “collégiens”

Atelier d’anglais pour collégiens “Sea, Sun and Fun” Parler, jouer, chanter en anglais… des activités ludiques pour amener les adolescents à s’imprégner de la culture anglophone. Durant trois après-midis pendant les vacances scolaires de 15h à 18h, les collégiens peuvent pratiquer l’anglais dans une ambiance conviviale et découvrir qu’il est amusant de parler cette langue ! Inscription et tarif: le nombre de places est de 15 avec un minimum de 6 inscrits. Le coût de l’atelier est de 75€ (inscription à la bibliothèque, goûter et matériel pédagogique compris). Un chèque de 75€ sera demandé à l’inscription, mais ne sera encaissé que le 1er jour de l’atelier. Inscription à l’accueil de la bibliothèque. |
