Talk by Curtis Robert Young on African-American soldiers in France in WW1
The library is pleased to announce a new Speaker series in English that will take place from September 2017 through June 2018 with a variety of different topics. Curtis Robert Young will be speaking on “When the Blues People Sang America to France – African-American soldiers in France in World War 1” Young is a historian, consultant and writer. He is professor of literature at ESSEC Grande Ecole. His current work celebrates the role played by African-American soldiers in 1917 France. He lives in Paris. No reservations necessary.
