The Saturday Reading Group is for anyone who loves to read, socialize in English, and meet new people. The April read for the group is « A Dry White Season » by Andre Brink. In South Africa, in 1976, Ben du Toit is a schoolteacher who has always considered himself a man of caring and justice, at least on the individual level. When his gardener’s son is brutally beaten up by the police at a demonstration by black school children, he gradually begins to realize his own society is built on a pillar of injustice and exploitation. The group will also be discussing the 1989 film based on the same title. When and where: Meetings will be held in the library once a month on Saturday afternoons starting at 3 pm.
