Knit and Natter

Come along and bring your knitting, Have a natter while you’re sitting, Or learn to knit with wool provided, Needles loaned and stitches guided. Knitted garments are très chic, So be in vogue and start this week. Knit and Natter is a free activity, open to all library members. No need to reserve, just come and enjoy! If anyone has some extra yarn please bring it in. |
Author Talk with Jennifer Doyle

This February, the library is delighted to welcome children’s book author Jennifer Doyle, visiting from our twin town of Wigan, England. Jennifer is a mother, French-language teacher, and nature enthusiast whose work is inspired by storytelling, language, and the natural world. She will share her journey as an author during the 2020 pandemic, as well as her personal connection to France and Angers. Free and open to the public. |
Coffee House

Join the library community for a special moment to talk about anything and everything (in English of course)! Just come in and chat with others, have a cuppa and enjoy the company. Coffee House is open to all library members. No need to reserve! Recommended donation of 1 €. |
Textile Arts & Crafts Workshop
 |
If you enjoy exploring all forms of textile and multimedia art, this activity is for you. We experiment with many different techniques (embroidery, weaving, patchwork, quilting, collages, dyeing techniques…) and we take pleasure in sharing and exploring various types of work together. Some of our shared projects are displayed at the library. This year we intend to go further into the artistic side of creation. No previous expertise required. Just come and join us! |
Books and tea

“Books and Tea” is a monthly meeting, on a Thursday, for bookworms and tea drinkers. Bring a book you’ve really enjoyed, talk about it and pass it on! The group meets from 2:15 to 3:45 at La P’tite Cigogne, 23 rue du Musée in Angers. No need to sign up, just come and enjoy! |
Garden Club

The Garden Club will visit CFPPA-ANGERS-LE-FRESNE/EPLEFPA More information about the school can be found at: https://www.lefresne-angers-se We have been asked to evaluate their (30) students as they prepare for their English Oral Exam in landscaping. Here’s what we can expect during the visit. Reservations for lunch at Le Retro on rue du Marechal Juin will be made for noon that day. If you would like to join this visit, send an email to GardenClub@ELLIA.org no later than January 29th. Specify whether you will attend the lunch and visit, or just the visit. This visit is free. |

Do you love French food and restaurants? Would you like to speak English more, but in a relaxed environment? Join the Luncheon Club! Enjoy a meal and great conversation in English once a month at a local restaurant. This activity is open to library members. Spaces are limited. Pizza and board games

Come to the library and enjoy a slice while you roll the dice – all in English of course! This fun-filled event is the perfect way to unwind, meet new people, and enjoy a night of friendly competition. Whether you’re a fluent speaker or just starting out, everyone is welcome at our table. Date: February 10th Time: 6:30 – 8:30 pm Cost: 10€ per player. This covers your pizza and soft drinks. Open to the public. All ages and levels welcome. (Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.) Let the games begin!
