Come to the library and enjoy a slice while you roll the dice – all in English of course! This fun-filled event is the perfect way to unwind, meet new people, and enjoy a night of friendly competition. Whether you’re a fluent speaker or just starting out, everyone is welcome at our table. Date: April 1st Time: 6:30 – 8:30 pm Cost: 10€ per player. This covers your pizza and soft drinks. Open to the public. All ages and levels welcome. (Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.) Let the games begin!

Anglofams – Children’s Book Exchange

Anglofams is an international community designed to connect English-speaking families with kids of all ages in the area. We are a diverse group of families who understand the unique experiences of raising bilingual children. Parents can share stories and resources, seek advice, and provide a casual, social environment for their children to be exposed to English outside of the home. On October 13th, we’ll be hosting a children’s book exchange at the library. Bring your children and a gently used book (in English) from your personal collection to exchange with another family! Light refreshments and snacks will be available, as well as activities and games to keep kids entertained. This event is free and open to all library members with an active family membership. The film club presents “The Grand Budapest Hotel”

The film club presents a film in English once a month on a Saturday afternoon. This showing will be of Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel. Watch the trailer here. The film will be followed by a discussion in English. This activity is free and open to all library members. |
Reading Shakespeare

Treat yourself to an afternoon of a collective reading of one of Shakespeare’s plays. This activity consists of watching a BBC production on DVD and then reading relative scenes. The U.S. Presidential Electoral Process

With the U.S. presidential election approaching in November, now is the perfect time to learn more about the electoral process and how it shapes the election outcome. Join us on October 11th from 10 – 11am for a talk on The U.S. Presidential Electoral Process by U.S. Consul for Western France, Emily Cintora. This event will provide valuable insights into how the U.S. election system works and is a great opportunity to stay informed during this pivotal election season! Free and open to the public with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America, France. |

Saturday Reading Group

The Saturday Reading Group is for anyone who loves to read, socialize in English, and meet new people. For this meeting, the group will read “Before I Go to Sleep” by S.J. Watson. “Before I Go to Sleep (2011) is the debut novel of English writer S. J. Watson. This psychological thriller features a protagonist suffering from amnesia. Forty-seven-year-old Christine Lucas wakes every morning with no memory of who or where she is. Each day she must reconstruct her identity with the help of her journal. Christine also gleans information from her husband, Ben, and a neurophysiologist, Dr. Nash. However, the more Christine discovers, the more she doubts the truth of what she is told.”
