Word for Word Theater Workshop

Susan Harloe, Artistic Director of Word for Word, and Sheila Balter, Charter Member of Word for Word, are excited to offer a workshop to adults on Friday, May 18 from 14h30 to 17h30.

Come for a fun-filled afternoon of participating in the Word for Word magic of transporting a short text from the page to the stage! At the end of the afternoon, participants will perform a short text for friends and family.

Wear comfortable clothing so that you can move around in!
Cost: 10€ per participant

Talk by Karina Piser "Secularism in French Public Schools"

Karina Piser is a journalist based in Paris with a fellowship through the Institute of Current World Affairs, pursuing a research project on secularism and social cohesion, notably in the public-school system. Publications include The Atlantic, The Nation, World Politics Review and Foreign Policy.
No reservations necessary. The Speaker Series has been made possible through a generous grant from the American Embassy.

Knitted garments are très chic,

Writing Workshop with Eleni Sikelianos

Join this writing workshop for both English speakers and French speakers with American author Eleni Sikélianos on the focus point of “family at the heart of your writing project”. Born and raised in California, Sikelianos has received numerous honors and awards for her poetry, nonfiction and translations including a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a Fulbright Fellowship. She has been teaching poetry for many years and is coming to the library to host a writing workshop. Free and open to the public, contact the library to sign up by email or at 02 41 24 97 07.

Reading Shakespeare

Treat yourself to an afternoon of a collective reading of Shakespeare’s Henry the Fourth. This activity consists of watching a BBC production on DVD and then reading relative scenes. This is a great activity for lovers of language and fans of the great wit. The activity is free for library members. Please sign up at the front desk.

The library is an authorized open center for the TOEIC Listening and Reading test (Public programme with photo). To sign up please consult the ETS website

Scheduled dates for 2018 are

Wednesdays : May 9th, June 13th & Sept. 12th.

Saturdays : July 7th
