JP Molenaar’s Art Show: CANCELLED

JP Molenaar’s Art Show: CANCELLED | 09/10/2020-24/11/2020 | All Day

JP Molenaar's Art Show: CANCELLED

Stop by the library from October 9th to November 24th during opening hours to see JP Molenaar’s Art Show. The exhibition is free and open to the public! On Friday October 9th, meet the artist between 4 pm and 6 pm!

JP Molenaar is a painter and the owner of the gallery Trois Murs in Savennières. Through his art, he tangoes with the duality of life with which he colors his own life. He believes that one can choose to do, or not. To take pleasure in things others may dismiss as whimsy. He also feels that the state of mind of individuals impacts their sense of reality. In his paintings, he prefers to portray those who attempt to hide their secrets but who, ultimately, reveal them with a simple gesture, a lowering of the eyes for example. He immortalizes such moments of revelation with his paintbrush. In each piece of art he creates, he attempts to provoke emotions with splashes of color, carefully chosen, or at times, simply lustily applied.

Textile Arts & Crafts

Textile Arts & Crafts | 01/10/2020 | 2:30 pm-4:30 pm

Textile Arts & Crafts

If you would like to do textile arts while speaking in English, this activity is for you!

Participants will create textile pieces of their choice using any technique that suits them: embroidery, patchwork, quilting, weaving, collages…

We created our first joint project in 2019. The various pieces that were designed, inspired by Neil Gaiman’s quote: ‘A book is a dream that you hold in your hand’, are exhibited at the library.

Our second project is underway. Our goal is to create around 30 squares. It will also be an opportunity for each person to learn new techniques. Join us and contribute to this unique project!

Bring your own materials and meet us at the library on Thursday afternoons from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the following dates: October 1, November 5, December 3, 2020. Open to library members. Please sign up at the front desk, when possible.
