What’s happening

If you enjoy exploring all forms of textile and multimedia art, this activity is for you.

We experiment with many different techniques (embroidery, weaving, patchwork, quilting, collages, dyeing techniques…) and we take pleasure in sharing and exploring various types of work together.

Some of our shared projects are displayed at the library. This year we intend to go further into the artistic side of creation.

No previous expertise required. Just come and join us!

Join the library community for a special moment to talk about anything and everything (in English of course)! Just come in and chat with others, have a cuppa and enjoy the company. Coffee House is open to all library members. No need to reserve! Recommended donation of 1 €.

Or learn to knit with wool provided,

Needles loaned and stitches guided.

Knitted garments are très chic,

So be in vogue and start this week.

The November read for the book club is « The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time » by Mark Haddon.

The Friday Book Club meets once a month to discuss a book which will have been selected by the members of the book club.

When and where : Meetings take place at the library on Fridays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. from September to June.

Cost: 20 Euros for the year.

Get on those hiking boots and take some time to revel in the great outdoors! The group “Walk and Talk” organises an easy walk once a month – approximately 10 km, 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon – in order to discover or re-discover the beautiful hiking paths of the Maine-et-Loire. Come along with good walking shoes, protection against rain, cold or heat according to the season…. a bottle of water and a little “en-cas” to keep your stamina up !

Suggested donation for the year is €10.

The tentative dates for this fall are:  November 25 & December 18.

The group leader will get in touch with you about 2 weeks before each walk so that you can sign up.  Maximum number for each walk is 20.

Join us one Friday a month between 2:30pm and 4:30pm as we read contemporary short fiction by French and English-language authors. We devote time to reading aloud, alternating maternal language readers and learners.

Treat yourself to an afternoon of a collective reading of one of Shakespeare’s plays. This activity consists of watching a BBC production on DVD and then reading relative scenes. This is a great activity for lovers of language and fans of the great wit. Free and open to all library members. For more information, please contact the group coordinator here. Dungeon and Dialogues is a collaborative story telling club based on the role-playing game Dungeon and Dragons. Over several sessions once a month on Saturday between 2:30 and 5:30pm shared between a Master and their players, worlds and stories come to life. Membership to the library is a requirement for all participants.
