Fall Fundraiser: Big, Big Book Sale (BBB)

It’s time for our next BIG, BIG BOOK SALE (BBB)!

Come to the library and browse through hundreds of second-hand books in English that we’ll have for sale.  Whatever your reading style or level is, we’ll have something for you:  children’s books, young adult fiction, crime thrillers, classic novels, non-fiction (gardening, cooking) biographies, autobiographies and many, many more!

The cost is 2€ per book, or buy 5 books and get the 6th book free!  We will be open from 10:00 to 18:00, but we encourage you to come early before our hottest titles go!

And that’s not all.  We’ll also have an assortment of homemade baked goods for sale.  You don’t want to miss out!

This event is open to the public.

We are a registered nonprofit and the BBB is a bi-annual library fundraiser in which we sell books that have been generously donated to us by our community in order to raise money to fund our operations.  It is an important event that allows us to continue to thrive and offer quality books and services.

If you are interested in donating your gently used books, you may bring them to the front desk of the library before Saturday, September 28th.  Thank you for your continued support!

Saturday Reading Group | 05/10/2024 | 3:00 pm-4:30 pm

Saturday Reading Group

The Saturday Reading Group is for anyone who loves to read, socialize in English, and meet new people.  For this meeting, the group will read “Before I Go to Sleep” by S.J. Watson.

Before I Go to Sleep (2011) is the debut novel of English writer S. J. Watson. This psychological thriller features a protagonist suffering from amnesia. Forty-seven-year-old Christine Lucas wakes every morning with no memory of who or where she is. Each day she must reconstruct her identity with the help of her journal. Christine also gleans information from her husband, Ben, and a neurophysiologist, Dr. Nash. However, the more Christine discovers, the more she doubts the truth of what she is told.”

Meetings are once a month on Saturday afternoons starting at 3 pm. Open to all library members. To sign up please contact the group coordinator at bookgroup@ellia.org.
