Books and tea

“Books and Tea” is a monthly meeting, on a Thursday, for bookworms and tea drinkers. Bring a book you’ve really enjoyed, talk about it and pass it on! The group meets from 2:15 to 3:45 at La P’tite Cigogne, 23 rue du Musée in Angers. No need to sign up, just come and enjoy!

Come along and bring your knitting,

Have a natter while you’re sitting,

Or learn to knit with wool provided,

Needles loaned and stitches guided.

Knitted garments are très chic,

So be in vogue and start this week.

Knit and Natter is a free activity, open to all library members. No need to reserve, just come and enjoy! If anyone has some extra yarn please bring it in.

Reading Shakespeare

Treat yourself to an afternoon of a collective reading of one of Shakespeare’s plays. This activity consists of watching a BBC production on DVD and then reading relative scenes. This is a great activity for lovers of language and fans of the great wit. Free and open to all library members. For more information or to sign-up, please contact the group coordinator here. The May read for the book club is « Long Island » by Colm Tobin

Le Book Club se réunit une fois par mois pour discuter du livre, qui aura été sélectionné par les membres du club de lecture.

Où et quand : Les rendez-vous ont lieu à la bibliothèque le vendredi de 14h30 à 16h30 de septembre à juin.

Tarif : 20 euros pour l’année.

Come and discover the exhibition "Aubusson Tisse Tolkien"

On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the Jean-Lurçat Museum of Contemporary Tapestry in Angers is presenting the remarkable Tolkien tapestry collection and exploring the story behind its creation. Museum curators will join us during Coffee House to present the exhibition, which will run until November 2026.

Free and open to the public.
