English-language Library in Angers

 

For the second year in a row, we’re delighted to launch our community reading challenge, inviting everyone to read (at least) 12 books in English throughout 2025.

This year’s theme? Read Around the World!

Together we’ll set off on a worldwide journey and explore literature from a different region each month.   You’ll discover incredible works that transport you far beyond Angers.

This January we’re heading to Latin America!

 

 

 

To inspire your travels, we’ve curated plenty of captivating books that are set in Latin America, penned by Latin American authors, or explore the rich culture and history of the region. All titles are available in our collection—visit the display at the front of the library to discover more!

To join, simply stop by the library during opening hours and pick up your 2025 Reading Challenge passport. Each time you finish a book from a region, we’ll stamp your passport to mark your journey. Want to venture off the beaten path? Use your Compass Rose Detour to swap out one region with a book of your choice.

Music and Readings with Nathanael de Vries

Venez explorer le pouvoir transformateur de la musique à travers des œuvres de deux auteurs américains, Richard Powers et Sherman Alexie… Rejoignez-nous pour une soirée de lectures en VO et d’illustrations musicales (jouées par le conférencier sur son clavier électrique).

 

Pyjama Party!  (Ages 4 – 8)

Heure de conte en anglais pour enfants de 4 à 8 ans.

Venez vêtus en pyjamas, apportez vos coussins et une couverture pour s’installer bien au chaud à la Bibliothèque anglophone et partager des contes en anglais suivi d’un goûter.

Readings in English  (A partir de 16 ans)

Venez écouter des passages de vos romans préférés lus à voix haute et en anglais à la Bibliothèque anglophone. Des idées lectures pour les adultes et un moment de partage autour de la littérature anglophone.

ENGLISH CAMP COLLÉGIENS Winter 2025

Stage ludique en anglais pendant les vacances scolaires!

12, 13, 14 février, 14h à 17h

Cet stage, encadré par des anglophones, s’adresse aux collégiens qui souhaitent améliorer leur compréhension et expression orale en anglais.  Durant trois après-midis pendant les vacances scolaires, les collégiens peuvent pratiquer l’anglais dans une ambiance conviviale et découvrir qu’il est amusant de parler cette langue !

Coût : 75 € pour les trois après-midi
