A new chapter for our library…

LA MAISON ANGLOPHONE OPENING NOVEMBER 2026 !We have some important and exciting news to share about the future of our library.

After 32 years at our home at 60 rue Boisnet, we are preparing for a new chapter. Following the sale of the building in 2020, we have been searching for a space that could house both our collection and the vibrant community that brings it to life—while remaining central, welcoming, and accessible.

We’re delighted to announce that, with the support of the Ville d’Angers, the library will be moving to a public building in the city center- an opportunity that reflects the library’s important role in the greater Angers community.

We will remain at 60 rue Boisnet until October 2026 with the move scheduled to take place during the autumn school holidays (from October 17) and an official reopening mid-November.

Our new address will be 17 rue Chevreul, 49100 Angers. Just 550 meters away, still in the heart of Angers ! The city council has informed us that this will likely be a temporary home, offering stability while we work toward a long-term solution.

This new chapter also comes with a new name: La Maison Anglophone – Bibliothèque et Centre Culturel. A reflection of our identity as a lively, inclusive space for literature, culture, and community.

We are deeply grateful for the steadfast support of the Ville d’Angers and for a dedicated team of volunteers who are helping guide us through this transition. We are also excited to announce a new partnership with Franco-American couple Dijana and Marc Jambert of Maredi Design, whose expertise will help bring our community-centered space to life.

While it will be bittersweet to leave rue Boisnet, we look forward to celebrating the memories made here and building what comes next – together.

Thank you for being part of this story. Stay tuned for the official opening date and in the meantime, there’s still plenty to do, and to read, at 60 rue Boisnet!
