The library celebrates its 30th anniversary!

The library has been a sanctuary for many, a space for learning and community, the place to be for almost three decades. From the 1st to the 8th of December, the library will be celebrating its 30th anniversary!

December 1st to the 8th:  A memory tree set up at the front of the library.  We invite everyone to write down their favorite memory of the library and hang it on the tree.  We can’t wait to read them all!

December 1st to the 8th:  We will have photos and news articles from the past 30 years on display.  Whether you have been a part of our community since the very beginning or a new member, please come and take a walk down memory lane!

December 8th from 10:00 – 11:00:  We will close out the week with a special edition of Coffee House. We’ll be throwing the library a 30th birthday party!  Stop by for a hot cuppa, some cake, and great company!

Come and take part in the festivities!

Thanksgiving Potluck

In the spirit of the sharing of the first Thanksgiving, the library and the Association Angers Jumelage are organising a potluck, bring-a-dish-to-share Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 23rd! We all have so much to be thankful for!

Meet at the library with your special dish to share, this is all about the harvest and giving thanks for all that we have. The organisers will set the tables (if you want to help, let us know by emailing info@ellia.org and come early at 4:30 pm to decorate). The organisers will offer all drinks.

During the aperitif, there will be a concert by “Swing Colporteurs”: “We are a local French band of four musicians – piano, guitar, bass, voice – we play American jazz classics. We mostly play locally and give a few tips about the historical context of the composition of the songs. Welcome to our swinging evening !” Donations welcome to support the musicians.

This event is free! It is all about sharing!  Seating is limited so please reserve by sending an email to info@ellia.org if you would like to join the festivities.
