Walter Wells retired as executive editor of the International Herald Tribune in 2005, having previously worked as editor and managing editor since 1980. He is the co-author (with Patricia Wells) of the book We’ve Always Had Paris … and Provence” and (with Jean-Marie Colombani) of Dangerous De-Liaisons.  He is one of the few non-French citizens to be awarded the French Legion of Honor. Since his retirement he spends his time between Paris and Provence as sous chef in Patricia’s cooking classes.
