Textile Arts & Crafts Workshop

If you enjoy exploring all forms of textile and multimedia art, this activity is for you. We experiment with many different techniques (embroidery, weaving, patchwork, quilting, collages…) and we take pleasure in sharing and exploring various types of work together. Lately we have completed individual and shared projects which may be displayed. No previous expertise required. Just come and join us! |
Garden Club visit (with optional lunch before)

Our April 18th visit will be to Plantagenet Plants located at 7 rue des Figuiers-Argentay, Les Verchers sur Layon, Doué-en-Anjou. This pepinière produces 750 varieties of plants, mainly perennials and grasses that are easy-to-grow. The cost of the visit is 7€, but everyone will receive a coupon for the same amount to be used for purchases in the boutique. The tour will start at 2:30pm. Find more information about Plantagenet Plants at: https://www.plantagenetplantes.com. A fun lunch is planned beforehand at Le Caveau, 4 Place du Champ de Foire, Doué-en-Anjou. This special troglodyte restaurant serves a “typical, back-in-the-day, Anjou meal” for a fixed price of 26 euros, absolutely everything included (aperitif, entrée/plat/dessert, wine & coffee). You have no choice in what to eat; everyone eats the same meal, and the fouaces are “all you can eat” direct from the oven. Walk and Talk

Get on those hiking boots and take some time to revel in the great outdoors! The group “Walk and Talk” organises an easy walk once a month – approximately 10 km, 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon – in order to discover or re-discover the beautiful hiking paths of the Maine-et-Loire. Come along with good walking shoes, protection against rain, cold or heat according to the season…. a bottle of water and a little “en-cas” to keep your stamina up ! Knit and Natter

Come along and bring your knitting, Have a natter while you’re sitting, Or learn to knit with wool provided, Needles loaned and stitches guided. Knitted garments are très chic, So be in vogue and start this week. Knit and Natter is a free activity, open to all library members. No need to reserve, just come and enjoy! If anyone has some extra yarn please bring it in. |

Bridge Club

Pizza and board games

Join us for our ever-popular game night and pizza party! Cost is 7 euros (covers pizza and non-alcoholic drinks, 5 euros for native English speakers and children under 13). Event starts at 6 pm sharp. Last entry at 6:15 pm. First come, first serve with 40 participants max. Children under 13 need to be accompanied by an adult. |
Luncheon Club

Do you love French food and restaurants? Would you like to speak English more, but in a relaxed environment? Join the Luncheon Club! Enjoy a meal and great conversation in English once a month at a local restaurant. This activity is open to library members. Spaces are limited. Anglofams Spring Adventure at Terra Botanica

Anglofams is an international community designed to connect English-speaking families with kids of all ages in the area. Parents can share stories and resources, seek advice, and provide a casual, social environment for their children to meet other bilingual kids. April’s meet up will be at Terra Botanica. This event is open to all those who hold library family memberships. Families are asked to cover their own cost of entrance to the park, and to bring their own lunches.
