SPRING FUNDRAISER : Big Big Book Sale March 28th and 29th !

It’s time for our next BIG, BIG BOOK SALE (BBB) March 28th and 29th ! 

Come to the library and browse through hundreds of second-hand books in English that we’ll have for sale.  Whatever your reading style or level is, we’ll have something for you:  children’s books, young adult fiction, crime thrillers, classic novels, non-fiction (gardening, cooking), biographies, autobiographies and many, many more!

The cost is 2€ per book.  If you buy 5 books, you’ll get a 6th book free! 

We will be open our usual hours on Saturday, March 28th from 10:00 to 18:00 and – new this year – We will also be open from 14:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, March 29th !

This event is open to the public.

We are a registered nonprofit and the BBB is a bi-annual library fundraiser in which we sell books that have been generously donated to us by our community in order to raise money to fund our operations.  It is an important event that allows us to continue to thrive and offer quality books and services. 

We have stopped accepting book donations until after the sale on March 28th. If you are interested in donating your gently used books, you may bring them to the front desk of the library after Tuesday, March 31st.  Thank you for your continued support!

 

Regional Public Speaking Competition in English for High Schoolers

The English-Speaking Union Loire Valley, along with the English-language Library in Angers and the Maison de l’Europe, are pleased to invite the general public to the Regional Public Speaking Competition in English for high school students on Saturday, March 21st starting at 2 pm at the Salons de la Présidence, Hotel du Département, Place Michel Debré in Angers.

High school students from schools in the Pays de la Loire will be competing to represent France in the International Public Speaking Competition, organized by the English Speaking Union to take place in London this May.

This event is free and open to the public.

Please note that the prestigious Hotel du Département is a government building. You will be required to present a valid photo ID to be allowed entry to the event.
