Join us one Friday a month between 2:30pm and 4:30pm as we read contemporary short fiction by French and English-language authors. Treat yourself to an afternoon of a collective reading of one of Shakespeare’s plays. This activity consists of watching a BBC production on DVD and then reading relative scenes. This is a great activity for lovers of language and fans of the great wit. Free and open to all library members. For more information, please contact the group coordinator here. Dungeon and Dialogues is a collaborative story telling club based on the role-playing game Dungeon and Dragons. Over several sessions once a month on Saturday between 2:30 and 5:30pm shared between a Master and their players, worlds and stories come to life. Membership to the library is a requirement for all participants. Cost : 20€ for the school year. |

Inspired by the sit-ins of the 1960s, we’re swapping protest signs for paperback pages. For the last hour of the last day open to the public on rue Boisnet, join us for a silent READ-IN—a collective hour of reading, together but quietly. Choose a book from our shelves or bring one from home. Find a cozy spot, settle in, and read alongside your fellow library lovers. Bring a pillow. Get comfortable. No phones. Just books. 4:30–5:00 PM — Arrive, choose your book & get settled 5:00–6:00 PM — THE SILENT READ-IN 6:00–7:00 PM — ONE FINAL FAREWELL! SURPRISE EVENT |

Get on those hiking boots and take some time to revel in the great outdoors! The group “Walk and Talk” organises an easy walk once a month – approximately 10 km, 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon – in order to discover or re-discover the beautiful hiking paths of the Maine-et-Loire. Come along with good walking shoes, protection against rain, cold or heat according to the season…. a bottle of water and a little “en-cas” to keep your stamina up ! Suggested donation for the year is €10. The tentative dates for this fall are: November 25 & December 18. The group leader will get in touch with you about 2 weeks before each walk so that you can sign up. Maximum number for each walk is 20. For further information you can contact our volunteer |

Travel the world without leaving your armchair! The World Book Club is a reading group that explores stories from authors around the globe, including works translated into English. Each month, members are invited to discover a new country, experience a different culture, and immerse themselves in a new story.
The November book selection is “A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain” by Robert Olen Butler.
This group is open to all library members and meets one Saturday afternoon a month, from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m.

The Saturday Reading Group is for anyone who loves to read, socialize in English, and meet new people. For this meeting, the group will read “A Line Made by Walking” by Sara Baume. Do you love French food and restaurants? Would you like to speak English more, but in a relaxed environment? Join the Luncheon Club! Enjoy a meal and great conversation in English once a month at a local restaurant. Cost : Open to all library members with a suggested 10€ contribution for the year. Everyone pays for the cost of their own meal.

“Books and Tea” is a monthly meeting, on a Thursday, for bookworms and tea drinkers. Bring a book you’ve really enjoyed, talk about it and pass it on! The group meets from 2:15 to 3:45 at La Petite Cignogne in Angers. Join us! Suggested donation 10 euros for the year.
