Andrew Painter’s Art Show | 22/02/2019-19/03/2019 | All Day

Andrew Painter's Art Show

Stop by the library from February 22nd to March 19th during opening hours to see Andrew Painter’s Art Show! The exhibition is free and open to the public!

Andrew Painter is a well-traveled, British painter who moved to Angers in 1988. His colorful, lively work is inspired by anything and everything in the world around him. He enjoys, above all, seeing people interpret his work in different ways. His paintings seem to take on a life of their own and his recent work reflects on both “change” and “difference”. Highlights of English Musical Heritage

For music lovers who are not necessarily musicians, the library presents a series of sessions aiming at illustrating  the heritage of English Classical Music in its most specific and beautiful forms, mainly vocal music. Each session will focus on a composer, with a short presentation of the work and the composer, followed by the listening of selected pieces through  selected  videos, often with different interpretations. The point is to share comments and criticism with the group members.

These sessions are free and open to the public. For more information or to sign up please email the group leader here. This session will discuss Henry Purcell’s The Indian Queen.
